Name: Leanne Whymark
Job role: Catering Manager
Length of service: 16 years
If you could describe Hollow Trees Farm in three words, what would they be?
Community, Family, Education
What does a typical day look like for you?
I don’t think there is a typical day at Hollow Trees! I usually start my day catching up with the team of chefs preparing both our Farm Made range and preparing our café for a busy day,
also checking in with George our front of house lead. From there I typically catch up with any admin then spend lots of time baking for the café and shop floor. I run service when I’m in at the weekend so between all the jobs lists, stock ordering, preparing new menus and customer orders I have a really varied week.
Favourite season on the farm and why?
Spring is my favourite Season on the farm. Easter is one of our busiest holidays in the Café and with the spring weather it feels like the year is finally getting going.
If you could order anything from the Farm Café, what would be your perfect meal or go-to
treat?
My go to treat in the café is a BLT but if I’m calling in on a day off, enjoying a breakfast in our garden, enjoying the summer sunshine is perfect.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
To fly as I love taking in our beautiful scenery and landscapes
What are your hobbies and interests?
I have a young daughter so as a family we love to spend time outdoors on country or seaside walks and lots of trips to the zoo (and of course Hollow Trees Farm Trail!). I’ve recently taught myself to crochet which is a new hobby of mine so definitely still only an amateur, but really enjoying it. I have grown up watching speedway, so in the warmer months of the year I spend my evenings at Foxhall watching the Ipswich Witches and before having family I used to travel for GP’s too.
