The duties include:

  • Taking orders at the till
  • Preparing the teas, coffees and cakes
  • Serving food at the tables
  • Assisting with dishwashing and keeping the farm cafe clean, tidy and warm is also part of the role. High standards of cleanliness are observed at Hollow Trees giving us a level 5 rating.

What is on offer:

  • Staff uniform provided
  • Free car parking
  • Generous staff discount and free entry for you and your family to the farm trail!

The hours are part time working Monday 8am until 4pm, Wednesday 11am until finish*, Friday 12pm until finish, Sunday 10am until finish.  Flexibility is always helpful as there are times when extra hours are available to cover holidays/events/sickness.

The rate of pay complies with the government living wage rate of £11.44 per hour but may vary to minimum wage rates depending on age of applicant.

*finish means around 5.30pm

School Garden Volunteering

Did you know that at Hollow Trees Farm, from Spring until October every year we host school visits at least three days a week. This year alone we have over 50 schools booked in to see us before the end of term in July.

We are looking to recruit a small team of locally based volunteers to help maintain our ‘School Garden’.

This is a small plot of land where we take each school to learn about and get very hands on experience with food, farming, harvesting, planting and all things nature. In the gardens we grow fruit, vegetables and have a newly established butterfly/bee garden and wild bird feeding station.

There are also a number of mixed planting areas on the Farm Trail that require maintenance too.

Tasks required would be weeding, watering, dead heading, planting and harvesting.

You don’t have to be highly skilled, just keen, flexible with hours and friendly.

In return we offer a friendly, happy environment to enjoy your volunteering in.

If you have some regular weekly time that you can offer us in our ‘School Gardens’ or want to know more about this volunteering opportunity, please contact Nicola on 01449 741247 or email hr@hollowtrees.co.uk
