This month in our Meet the Team spotlight, we’re heading into the Farm Café kitchen to introduce Harry Neads – one of the creative chef’s behind your favourite meals at Hollow Trees.
As Chef, Harry has been part of the Hollow Trees family for just under three years. Whether he’s serving up crowd-pleasing classics or experimenting with bakes (he designed and created our Mother’s Day afternoon tea menu this year!), Harry brings skill, humour, and a whole lot of heart to the kitchen team.
Let’s get to know the man behind the apron – from his ultimate Farm Café order to his favourite season on the Farm!
Name: Harry Neads
Job Role: Chef
Length of Service: Just under 3 years
If you could describe Hollow Trees Farm in three words, what would they be?
Unique, fun, progression
What does a typical day look like for you?
I’m usually in for 8am and we start with a team chat about the day ahead. Then it’s onto prepping for service. If we’re busy, I’m mostly on service; if it’s quieter, I’ll take the opportunity to work on cakes or longer prep jobs. Around 4pm, I start clearing down the service end of the kitchen and wrap things up for the day.
Favourite season on the farm and why?
Winter – I love cooking (and eating!) hearty winter meals, so it’s my favourite season to be in the kitchen.
If you could order anything from the Farm Café, what would be your perfect meal or go-to treat?
A BBC – bacon, brie and cranberry toastie on white bread. It’s a winner every time!
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Time travel, for sure. I’d love to go back in time and experience different eras.
What are your hobbies and interests?
I’m a diehard Ipswich Town fan and go to games home and away. When I’m not cheering them on, I enjoy cooking and baking at home too!
